Candidate Stephen P. Curley, Class 16-66

US Army Signal Corps OCS    -  A Short Update, As At October of 2013  -    US Army Signal Corps OCS

Received by eMail From Candidate Curley...

Just found web site.  Thought I'd check in after 45 years.

Quick summary of past 4+ decades.  After OCS I completed helicopter flight school (roomed with Dick Appleton till he washed out. Great guy!!!) and was assigned to the First Air Cavalry out of Camp Evans in I Corps.  Arrived in country January 9, 1968.  Managed to make it through ok.  Received Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 24 clusters (1 with V device) for being wrong places at wrong times I guess...and the usual officer's Bronze Star just for showing up.  Branch transferred to Armor.  I really sucked as a pilot but I was better at flying than I was at setting up any type of commo.    Spent 7 years between Nam, Ft Dix, Ft Bragg, and Ft Knox.  Little bit of everything. Commanded 3 companies, squadron XO, General's Aide, Secy to General Bert David's staff while he commanded Ft Dix. Armor Office Advanced Course at Knox - couldn't drive a tank either.  Got out in '73.  MBA, retired COO.  Great wife, Daughter, 2 Grand-daughters.

Steve
