Can you identify this picture?
It's the Radio Relay Unit "442"
Do you remember it?
STOP THE PRESS !
Colonel Preas Street, Class 18-67, caught us in
the act of rewriting the technical manual for the above unit !
Col. Street sent us an eMail suggesting "My memory may be wrong, but
I think the picture on the Class Coordinator page is actually an
R-442 Auxiliary Receiver (verses a "relay" unit). If it is, it was
part of the VRC 46 series (i.e. when put with an RT-524, it made a
VRC-47, etc.) The VRC-49 (two RTs and Retrans box) usually mounted
in a quarter ton with two 15 foot whips was the auto retransmission
version (again, I think)."

Guess what? We went back and checked one more
time, and he's right! It is an R-442 Auxiliary Receiver.
Thanks for the great catch Colonel! Now we know
why you made Colonel and we didn't !

| VOLUNTEER CLASS COORDINATORS |
|
The job of the Class Coordinator is to actively
coordinate search actions for members of your class who have not yet
been found, and to track their status so that our search engine can
be kept up to date. If you are a Class Coordinator, or a class
member who knows something about the status of one of your
classmates, send us the info so that we can update our files and
keep our search engine accurate. No personal information is ever
given out over the internet except your Class Number, Graduation
Date, and your Last Name, First Name, and last known Status. All
other information you send to us is kept off line, is not accessible
through the web, and is only given to your fellow class members with
your advance permission.
Not a Class Coordinator, and still want to help? Every class would
benefit if there were several Class Coordinators. Feel free to
volunteer, we will add your name below.
If you would like to get in touch with your Class Coordinator but
don't know how, send us an eMail and we will forward it to them.
They will reply back to you directly.
We are here to assist you as much as possible. Please
help us track your classmates and keep our files current.
Please notify Richard Green if you wish to
volunteer.
