In Memoriam: Jimmy Conlee is pictured in the photos below. He was my TAC officer. I am the WebMaster for this site. Single handedly, with great patience, persistence, and at times even humor, he turned me from a small town boy off of a chicken farm in New England into a man, and from there into a Gentleman. There are no words to express the gratitude I and so many other of his Smacks owe him for what he did for us. You can see some of us in the picture below. I am there. I am the one fully wet behind the ears. Jimmy took me from that precipitous stage to where I am today. I was 22 then. Today I am 65, and I still hold the values that Jimmy taught me. I have proudly carried them all of my life. From Jimmy I learned the value of integrity, honesty, character and courage. I learned that there was a time to lean forward in the game and put my finger in someone’s chest, and a time to stand back and be gentle. I learned how to lead. I learned how to allow myself to be led. I was distressed to hear of his death. God, rest well this wonderful man.
