Candidate Edward H. Woore, Class 18-43

-  From an eMail Exchange in March 2011  -

"... Pictures from my OCS days are few and far between, but I did have a graduation picture, which I will look for. What I did do to your web page (for my class) was to count up the first 100 names and then go back and count those that were still living. The figures look pretty sad, 6% of us are living and the other 94% have gone to their final reward. And I have no doubt that I will join the later group soon. It is a pleasure to meet you, and I hope I can find a picture (of my class).

 Sincerely, Edward H. Woore "

WebMaster's note: Ed sent along a link to his family page... it shows a proud family heritage, a name worth taking pride in, a classic American heritage that began back before 1776 when we were still one country. When you look at Ed's family page, you instantly understand why Britain is one of America's closest allies. Always has been... always will be. Great people (except for their food)... especially those who came over to this side of the Atlantic... like Ed's family. Now how many of you can claim that there is a town in the old country named after you?

Woore family historyTake a moment to visit the Woore family website, and learn more about the family of this Signal Officer from our Greatest Generation. Click here to visit Woore family website You also might note that in Woore-town they use correct English on their road signs.  Here in the US we would say DRIVE SLOW. In England, they use the correct conjugation of the verb: SLOWLY.

And BTW, thank you Ed for your service to our country.
